Hi, I'm Advait. I'm working on Companion to explore hardware, software, and new kinds of interfaces that make AI feel personal.
I grew up in India, Japan, and the United States, and have lived in over 15 homes. Without much stability, I spent most of my time chasing my curiosity. I borrowed books from neighbors, made art, taught myself piano, and played competitive chess.
Some things I've done:
- Memorized my dad's credit card to start a reselling business in high school.
- Founded YouLearn, an AI tutor with 2M+ users.
- Worked on wearables at the Augmentation Lab at MIT.
- Co-founded Friday, an AI executive assistant that got into Y Combinator.
- Built Feynman, an open-source AI researcher with 8k+ stars on GitHub.
- Contributed to Jmail, Gmail except you're logged in as Epstein, with 500M page views.
I call myself a disciple of experience because that's how I learned, by doing things, being wrong, and trying again.
For a year, I asked for things I expected people to say no to, and ended up modeling in a magazine, giving a commencement speech to 10,000 people, and getting Sam Altman to sign my O1 visa.
I love art and beautiful things, and the best ones I've seen are in nature, perfected by evolution. We don't take enough inspiration from it.
I wonder about how the mind works and what our purpose is in this world. I think a deeper understanding of quantum mechanics will help us understand our origins and many of the universe's biggest mysteries.
